Italian Lemon "Milkshake"

Italian Lemon

Don’t let the simplicity of this recipe fool you!  It is packed with flavor.  In the northern part of Italy, it is called “sgroppino,” a yummy dessert when a slice of cake or a tart is just too filling.  A must for after-dinner sipping and so simple to make.  Serve it with your favorite homemade cookies or my Italian Almond Crumb Cookie.

Serves 8


2 cups vanilla ice cream
1 1/2 cups lemon sorbet
3/4 cups fresh lemon juice
2/3 cup vodka
1/2 cup prosecco or sparkling wine


Place all of the ingredients in a blender and process until it is a thick creamy shake.
